Writes a new handoff note, telling the next conversation what it needs to know to carry on once this one hands off.

Mework offers it when the context reaches the Auto-compact threshold and asks the model to hand off. The notes are the whole handoff: Mework writes no summary of its own, and the next conversation starts with this one's system prompt, settings and tools and these notes, but none of the history. Once its notes are written, the model calls handoff. See Auto-compact.

Parameters

Parameter	Type	Details
`content` required File content	string	The note's complete Markdown body, up to 256 KiB of UTF-8.
`description` required Description	string	One sentence saying what the note holds; it becomes the note's line in the handoff index.
`name` required Name	string	New note name; no path separators, the .md suffix is optional.
